Waterloo Catholic District School Board

The Waterloo Region, considered the technological and academic heart of Canada, is a vibrant and safe community that offers a great opportunity for you to receive an excellent education in English. With a population of 500,000, this is the eleventh largest metropolitan area in Canada. People around the world are drawn to unique opportunities and a high quality of life. The Waterloo Region has easy access to major cities such as Toronto, Montreal and New York, as well as some of the most spectacular natural wonders on the planet, including Niagara Falls.

On the academic side, we in the school district take great pride in our reputation for excellence in education and innovation and the reputation of our community as a safe, clean, prosperous, and multicultural environment for learning and living. As a faith-based institution, we offer a wide variety of academic programs and are delighted to welcome international students into our school communities.

Catholic schools in the Waterloo region offer extracurricular activities in all areas of interest: sports, arts and sciences, technology, as well as numerous clubs. These activities and clubs are generally supervised and led by trained coaches and teachers who ensure that all students participate and develop their technical and social skills. International students are invited and encouraged to fully participate in these opportunities as one more Canadian student.

Educational ideology

Offer quality, comprehensive and individualized educational plans that meet the needs of our international students: educational plans that guide them to reach their potential and prepare them both for their post-secondary professional career and for their role as global citizens. International education plans will be established with a comprehensive assessment of each student's academic and English language ability and will consider the academic and social needs of individual students.

"As disciples of Christ, we educate and nurture hope in all students so that they realize their full potential to transform God's world."

"Our Catholic schools: heart of the community: success for everyone, a place for all."
