St. James Assiniboia School Division

St. James-Assiniboia School Division is located west of the city of Winnipeg, Manitoba. It is only 10 minutes from its international airport. It offers a very low level of international students to Canadian students, making international students enjoy a total immersion in Canadian life. The district also has an ESL (English as a Second Language) program and is available in any course.

St. James-Assiniboia offers a wide range of nationally and internationally recognized programs. Students can finish their studies with an Academic Certificate, Advanced Academic Certificate, International Baccalaureate Diploma and Certificates, Advanced Placement Certificates, French Immersion Diploma, Technology Education Diploma or a Performing Arts Program Diploma.

All schools offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities such as student council, yearbook committee, science fair, heritage fair, band, drama and student musical productions, debating, public speaking, art club, improv, tech club, math club, creative writing club, anime club, astronomy club, chess club, aviation club, Winnipeg high school chamber of commerce, video game club, grad committee, grad fashion shows, and club cinema.

A lot of sport is also practiced, such as cross country, hockey, cheerleading, volleyball, basketball, badminton, golf, soccer, ultimate, water polo, wrestling, track and field, rugby, curling, lacrosse, handball, track, and football.

ISP (International Student Program) staff pick up students at the airport and help them settle in with host families. At school, the international department welcomes students and ensures that each student is in the right program. ISP staff meets regularly with students and monitors academic progress and their adaptation to school life.
