Overview

Cowichan Valley School District is located in the Cowichan region of Vancouver Island. It provides quality education to over 7,500 students in a predominantly rural community, serving four diverse areas. It is a progressive school district, offering world-renowned academic instruction and a rich diversity of engaging programs to inspire each student's success and bring communities together to learn, share and grow.

Its academic, athletic and performing arts programs are among the best in Canada. In addition, it is one of the few districts that have specialized ESL (English as a Second Language) teachers, working only with international students. This support is included and is available all year round. As a result, the Cowichan district has been accepting students from Belgium, Brazil, China, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Macau, Mexico, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Taiwan and Turkey for the past 21 years.
