Cowichan Valley School District is located in the Cowichan region of Vancouver Island. It provides quality education to more than 7,500 students in a predominantly rural community, serving four diverse areas. It is a progressive school district, offering world-renowned academic instruction and a rich diversity of engaging programs to inspire success in every student and bring communities together to learn, share and grow.
Its academic, sports and drama programs are some of the best in Canada. In addition, it is one of the few districts that have teachers specialized in teaching ESL (English as a Second Language), and they work only with international students. This support is included and is available year-round. Therefore, Cowichan District accepts students from Belgium, Brazil, China, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Macau, Mexico, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Taiwan and Turkey for the past 21 years.
