Ontario is the largest province in Canada, in terms of population, and Canada’s economic engine. The largest city is Toronto, a very multicultural destination known for its great museums and restaurants. A huge portion of the population of Ontario is concentrated in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) – an area ranging from Burlington to the west, across Toronto, and over to Oshawa to the east.

The area outside of the GTA is served by medium-sized cities, such as Barrie and Guelph. These cities tend to be surrounded by farmland and smaller towns. The northern area of the province is sparsely populated, but is home to massive lakes, rivers and forests, where busy city-dwellers enjoy relaxing during their time off.

Ontario is home to Niagara Falls, one of the wonders of the natural world, and the CN Tower, once the largest building in the world. Because of its large population, it also features a large number of world-class universities, including the University of Toronto, University of Waterloo, and McMaster University.

If you’d like to be at the centre of the action, Ontario may be the place for you!
