Canada, an oasis of freedom

Canada, besides being the second-largest country in the world, is a great nation.

At Red Leaf, with 40 years of experience and thousands of satisfied families, we reaffirm our commitment to Canadian culture, society, ideals, and its outstanding educational system. Canada, known for its openness, multiculturalism, safety, and environmental respect, hosts one of the world's most advanced educational systems.

We firmly believe that quality public education is key to shaping free, equal, and committed citizens, integral to integration and the common good. The excellence of Canadian education, far from magic formulas, is based on the steadfast prioritization of quality education, robust public funding, and the independence of educational professionals. This has shaped creative, free, and committed youth, strengthening the values of freedom, democracy, respect, and inclusion in our society.

At Red Leaf, we pride ourselves on providing the world's best education to our families and students, with an expert and trustworthy team. We continue to innovate in education, promoting international mobility and new educational models like Dual Baccalaureate and quality Online Training.

We deeply appreciate your continued trust in us.

A success story

1984

First steps

In 1984 Jesús Salgado travels to Canada, thus initiating the activity of sending Spanish students to study in North American through his company 3B. There he meets Marylou Heenan, who will become his Canadian partner. Marylou Heenan owns The Language Workshop, a year round English Language Center for Youth and Adults in Canada. At this time there are only 4 adult English centers in Toronto.

1986

Evolution

Jesús and Marylou decide to create a new division within The Language Workshop: The Language Workshop-Youth which is dedicated to carrying out Educational Programs in Canada for young people under 18 years of age. During this first year, 150 Spanish students travel to Ontario. Jesús Salgado acquires 25% of The Language Workshop.

It is the first company in Canada to start developing the English & Home Stay Programs: Language immersion programs with Canadian host families reinforced with face-to-face English courses.

1990

Consolidation

In 1990, Red Leaf Student Programs INC is created, dedicated to youth (up to 18 years of age). The shareholding is made up 50% between Jesús Salgado and Marylou Heenan, separate from The Language Workshop. Two years later, The Language Workshop joins the Global Village Group, currently one of the largest adult language learning companies in Canada.

The Global Village Group today promotes the country as an educational destination worldwide with great success, although in the early nineties Canada was, from various points of view, a destination that is certainly exotic and unknown.

1994

Development

On February 28, 1994 Red Leaf Spain was established with CIF B-80826654. The objective is to develop programs for young people with English classes and homestay, so that students from all over the world can learn English in Canada; developing a market that at that time is virgin. Red Leaf Spain, like its the Canadian sister, Red Leaf Student Programs INC, is 50% established between Jesús and Marylou.

The company's headquarters are located in Madrid for Red Leaf Spain and Europe and in Toronto (Ontario) for Red Leaf Canada and the rest of the world.

From there, the educational and innovative philosophy, not only the learning of English, are part of the mission of Red Leaf. They work with governments at national, regional and local levels (being one of the first companies that managed government sponsored camps), with public, private and concerted schools in addition to companies and foundations.

2005

Permanent Innovation

In 2005, the shareholding of Red Leaf Spain becomes 100% Spanish, with Red Leaf Students Programs INC remaining Canadian, with 50% Spanish and 50% Canadian capital.

2010

New Horizons

In 2010, Marylou Heenan decides to retire and sells her share of Red Leaf Student Programs INC. to Jesús Salgado. Thereafter, Red Leaf Spain and Red Leaf Student Programs (Canada) are constituted with 100% Spanish capital operating under the same business group.

This year the Red Leaf representation opens in Tokyo.

2013

Big Projects: Delivered!

Red Leaf begins a successful relationship with the Amancio Ortega Foundation, providing Academic Course Programs in Canada to more than 1,000 students.

2019

The International group is born

In February 2019, an alliance was formed with BS Educatours to open a Red Leaf headquarters in Mexico City.

From that moment on Red Leaf operates under the same business group and in this way, already consolidated as one of the 3 most important educational agencies in Europe with a destination in Canada, it successfully develops projects with a clear objective of educational innovation.

2020-23

Pandemic? What Pandemic?

In 2020, the pandemic hit the educational consulting sector hard. Red Leaf, thanks to a great business effort and its professionals, takes advantage of the crisis situation to launch new and innovative highly successful educational and management formats such as: Canadian Dual Baccalaureate (Edualia) and Red Leaf Families.
