Program overview
Nestled in beautiful Algonquin Park, Camp Ahmek for Boys (1921) and Camp Wapomeo for Girls (1924) have a unique brother-sister relationship grown from nearly 90 years of shared history. We offer an unrivalled balance of out-trip and in-camp programming.
Trips range from overnight to 50 days in length, and routes that explore much of northern Ontario and eastern Quebec. The camps share several facilities and the campers get together throughout the summer for special events and weekly activities.

Activities include: Canoeing, Swimming, Sailing, Kayaking, Arts & Crafts, Tennis, High Ropes, Climbing Wall, English Horseback Riding and much more.

A typical day
7:30 am
8:00 am
- A hearty breakfast followed by a morning meditation and musical selection gets the day off to a good start.
9:05 am
- Activity period Campers, along with their cabin mates and counselors, participate in activities such as swimming, canoeing, sailing, kayaking, high-ropes, archery, to name just a few.

- Lunch: Eaten in the dining hall served with soup and fresh salads from the salad bar
1:15-2:15 pm.
- Rest-hour: Campers and staff recharge in preparation for the afternoon by taking a siesta, enjoying a quiet read in the library or challenging someone to a game of table-tennis.

5:00-5:30 pm.
- Free Swim: Open to all campers. A chance to tune up swimming skills, take a leap off the high-dive or just splash around in the pool.
6:00 pm
- Family-style dinner served in the dining hall. Campers can reflect on the fun-filled day behind them and prepare themselves for the evening activity to follow
7:30-8:30 pm
- Evening activity Challenges including king’s court, capture the flag, war, canoe races; Also: coffee house, show nights, stargazing, scavenger hunts, campfires, storytelling
