General Program Information

Red leaf programs in Canada

Red Leaf offers a comprehensive range of 2-6 week summer and short or long-term high school programs in small and medium-sized communities across Canada. We focus exclusively on the junior and teen market for students aged 10-18. Students may choose to study for a semester –5 months or for one academic year –10 months, or more.
Currently, students have the option of studying in the provinces of Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia or Alberta.

Students may enroll in a public, Catholic or non-denominational school and live with a Canadian family. The high school year in Canada runs from late August or early September to June. Students follow the program of studies developed by the provincial Ministry of Education and they are expected to integrate fully into the life of the school, attending all classes, completing assignments and examinations, and getting involved with extracurricular activities.

Homestay ACCOMMODATION

In addition to placing students in a high school, Red Leaf provides homestay with a Canadian family. Family accommodation is perhaps the aspect of the program that requires the most maturity on the part of the foreign student. The student's life in Canada demands a great deal of adaptability as he/she integrates into the lifestyle of a country where customs and habits are different from one's own.

This program offers a unique opportunity in which students learn to be more independent by making their own decisions. It is an enriching experience which will contribute to the shaping of their personality.

Through our programs, you can become more familiar with the language, culture, customs and habits of life in a country different from your own. Choose from our exciting Summer or Winter Programs, or choose an Academic Program to experience Canadian academic life — you can discover Canada in any season! Red Leaf programs are all-inclusive programs which generally include accommodation, classes (if applicable), materials, activities, excursions and airport transfers.
